This article deals with the presentation of the term “lexicology” in Russian, Kazakh and Uzbek dictionaries; reveals differences in contents of dictionaries’ articles which are related to an absolute understanding of lexicology as a science of lexical structure of the language, so of her separate aspects; moreover it is analyzed the peculiarities of the usage in these dictionaries’ articles of the term language unit, which in Kazakh dictionaries functions as variant «til edinicasi» and in proper-scientific works (monograph, dissertation, article and others) in Kazakh language, it is actively used as variant «til birligi». This is also significant to the Uzbek language
